The expert holiday illness team at JPS Walker have been instructed by a number of clients who have been become unwell whilst staying at the Palm Wings Ephesus Beach Resort in Kusadasi.
The diarrhoea and vomiting that they were struck down with was so severe that medical treatment had to be sought whilst the clients were still in Turkey.
Although the resort has an official rating of 5 stars, holidaymakers have taken to TripAdvisor to voice their complaints about the food and hygiene standards at the resort. A British holidaymaker who stayed at the report in September 2017 commented:
“Absolutely the worse Hotel we have stayed in Turkey would never stay here or tell people to stay at this Hotel as Food is Cold and moved from one dining area to another if not all eaten in the first area,
We were also ill which we put down to the poor food hygiene and whilst talking to other people on site also had same problem with food and being ill,
On the last breakfast morning we saw one of the staff putting back some old food that had been spilt into fresh food tray and a cat eating off of plates which hadn’t been cleared away from tables in dining hall,
This Hotel is never a 5 star Hotel and we are glad to be leaving in a few hours.”
Another British guest who also stayed in September 2017 said:
“Food was of a very poor standard. It was cold, tasteless and repetitive. Most of the items were not labelled so it was guess work on what you was eating. Food that was labelled was generally incorrectly.. Vegetarian stuffed peppers.. stuff with chicken. From the second day of the holiday I was ill with a stomach bug which my friend then got on the 4th. After speaking to other guest I found out we were not the only ones with upset stomachs.”
